Summary
Description Bushell's 1896 decipherment of Tangut characters.jpg |
English:
Table of Tangut characters deciphered by S.W. Bushell in his article "The Hsi Hsia Dynasty of Tangut, Their Money and Peculiar Script" (Journal of the North China Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society Vol.XXX (1895-1896). The Tangut characters are all correctly deciphered (mapped to the Chinese character with the corresponding meaning), except for the character for 'nine' (Chinese 九), which is actually '𗪘' meaning 'first, former' (the correct Tangut character for 'nine' is '𗢭').
