Description
English: A burr. This fruit attaches to animal fur via the hooks on its surface to improve distribution. Velcro is an example of a biomimetic invention which has copied burrs and uses small flexible hooks to reversibly attach to fluffy surfaces.
Français : Le velcro est inspiré de plantes disposant de propagules munis de crochets menus et souples comme ici la « benoite commune » ( Geum urbanum ). Mais d'autres plantes produisent des crochets plus grands et plus durs (ex: bardane ). Ces crochets leurs permettent de faire transporter leurs graines par des animaux (ou nos vêtements)
