This is a painting by George Hyde Pownall showing trams running down Bourke St in Melbourne. It is looking east from a point midway between Elizabeth and Queen streets, showing the General Post Office clocktower and State Parliament of Victoria in the background. It was painted in 1912 and hangs in the Cowan Gallery at the State Library of Victoria (as of April 2019).
