Marschall Auguste de Marmonts
. Sie fand in der Nähe der Hügel der „Arapiles“ südlich von Salamanca in Spanien (Kastilien-León) statt und wird daher in Frankreich auch Schlacht an den Arapiles (bataille des Arapiles) genannt. Die französischen Verluste dieser Schlacht lagen bei ca. 15.000 Soldaten, die der Alliierten bei ca. 5.000 Mann. Marschall Marmont selbst verlor hier seinen rechten Arm.
