The title is given as BANKSIA marcescens. pl. 48 (Banksia marginata Cav., ) Note that this is not the same as Banksia marginata R.Br., which is a synonym of Banksia praemorsa . Banksia marcescens Bonpl. was published six years after Brown's name, and is therefore an illegitimate later homonym.
