Description
English: Aurora Elks Lodge No. 705 on the NRHP since March 31, 1980 . At 77 S. Stolp Ave., Aurora, Kane County Illinois. On Stolp Island and a contributing structure in the Stolp Island Historic District. A very odd building built with "clinker bricks" (distressed, odd shaped) in a Mayan Revival style. Designed by Zimmerman, Saxe, and Zimmerman in 1926. A 40 room hotel with bowling alley was operated here as part of the lodge.
