English:

The ground for the Grand Movie Theatre was broken in 1947. It was designed by architect Abidin Mortaş. The building’s capacity allowed an audience of 1550 people. It was quite luxurious. The personnel were well-dressed. The theatre was opened with the movie Deception on January 17, 1949. Film premieres were special events. People would wear their best clothes on Monday nights as if they were going to an opera.
