Summary
Description Asian Elephant Elephas maximus.jpg |
English:
Teacher and Taught. . . The communication amongst family members in elephant herds is always fascinating. An elephant family is invariably led by the oldest and most experienced female- matriarch. The matriarchal society consists of her female offspring and their young and in some cases, it may include matriarch's sisters and her offspring as well. It is this close contact, communication and relationship, that allows the rest of the members of herd to acquire knowledge to be used when needed. .
