Summary
Description Abalone League Team Captains.jpg |
English:
Photograph of the Abalone League team captains in 1925. Left to right: Lee Gottfried, Fred Godwin, Charley Van Riper, Eddie Burns, Harrison Godwin, and Byington Ford. The teams' names were changed yearly and were usually named after local fish, birds, and son on, such as the Sanddabs, the Whales, the Hawks, the Owls, and the Eagles. In 1925, the names of the teams whose captains are pictured here were apparently suggested by Big League Teams and included the Reds, the Tigers, the Pirates and the Shamrocks.
