Summary

Description
English: A comparison of some just intonation frequency ratios (including 101:100 just for good measure) versus 72-tone equal temperament (72ET). Of particular note is that justly-tuned 5-limit minor and major thirds are much better approximated by 19/72 and 23/72, where 12ET would put these at 18/72 and 24/72. Additionally, since the 11th harmonic is almost perfectly halfway between the tri-tone and perfect fourth of 12ET, and the 7th harmonic approximately one-third of a semitone flatter than an equally-tempered minor seventh, 72ET simultaneously provides good approximations of the 7th and 11th harmonics.
