Summary
Description 3401 N California Ave, Chicago IL 049.jpg |
English:
The original facility was built in 1948 to house the building and sales office of the arcade game manufacturer United Manufacturing. In 1964, the company Seeburg consolidated both United Mfg and Williams Electronics into this singular building. 1980 Williams became independent, then renamed its corporate entity to WMS Industries, continuing to use this building and the subsequent expansion into the larger glass-covered offices. In 2016 WMS was sold to Scientific Games, who currently operates the building.
The two buildings sit upon the North branch of the Chicago River at the junction of N California Ave and the end of West Roscoe St. The larger building further West is occupied by Scientific Games and the original brick building housed Macon Construction. The property at the time of these photos being taken appears to be available for lease.
