"National Donor Monument" in Naarden. The statue "De klim" (The climb) was designed by Egbert Hermsen and made by Ben Overkamp. This statue was unveiled on October 21, 2011 by Erica Terpstra and the mayor of Naarden Joyce Sylvester. This statue symbolizes: 1) A transplant receiver climbs to a new life thanks to his donor. 2) A relative of the deceased donor climbs out of a valley of grief because deceased donor lives on in someone else.
