Summary
Description 2001 Ford AU Falcon Race Car (9738284328).jpg |
Introduced in late 1998, the AU Falcon got a completely new look, although not very popular, but the XR models didnt look so bad, quite a menacing appearance, with their trademark four headlight design. The XR was also given flashy body kits and decklid spoiler. The XR was the look for the race cars, this one built by Gibson Motorsport, and driven by Craig Lowndes and Neil Crompton in the 2001 Supercar 1000 at Bathurst, finishing 17th. This was the 1st year of 9 for Craig Lowndes in a Ford. He finished 2nd in the Bathurst 1000 in a BA Falcon in 2003 and 2004 and 1st in 2006, 2007 and 2008, before returning to Holden in 2010. |
