The Cadillac Automobile Company was founded in 1903. In 1909 Cadillac was acquired by General Motors, GMs premier luxury car.
For 1961, the Cadillac was restyled and re-engineered, a bit more of a subtle look, the front windscreen not wrapping around any more.
Models available in 1961;
Series 62; Entry level 130in wheelbase, again available with either the 6 window 4 door Hardtop; small qtr light windows and slim pillars, or the 4 window 4 door Hardtop, had no qtr lights, rear pillars brought forward and the roofline cantilevered out. Also available was the shorter deck 4 door Town Sedan, 2 door Hardtop and 2 door Convertible.
Series DeVille; 130 in wheelbase, deVille badge on front fender, power seats and power windows; 4 door 6 window Hardtop, 4 door 4 window Hardtop and 2 door Hardtop.
Series Biarritz Eldorado; 130 in wheelbase, 2 door convertible.
Series 60 Fleetwood; Entry level luxury 130in wheelbase, only available as a 4 door hardtop,
Series 75 Fleetwood; Limousine 150in wheelbase, distinctive high-headroom look; 4 door sedan or 4 door limousine.
