The discovery plate of 1740 Paavo Nurmi, obtained on 18 October 1939 at Iso-Heikkilä observatory, Turku, Finland by Yrjö Väisälä. Exposure time 2 x 6 mins. The telescope was slightly moved in Declination between the exposures. P1 and P2 are the positions of Paavo Nurmi during the two exposures. Original glass plate from the plate archive of Tuorla Observatory, Finland.
