For registered users, this template is obsolete as it has been superseded by Help:Notifications/Cross-wiki at MediaWiki and Template:Reply to.

This template employs intricate features of template syntax.

You are encouraged to familiarise yourself with its setup and parser functions before editing the template. If your edit causes unexpected problems, please undo it quickly, as this template may appear on a large number of pages.
You can conduct experiments, and should test all major changes, in either this template's sandbox, the general template sandbox, or your user space before changing anything here.

Purpose

You can use this template to notify a user that you have responded to their message on your own talk page on another WikiProject.

Usage

placed under a new section at the bottom of the recipient user talk page. To use this template to inform your intended Wikipedian of a message on a talk page on another project:

Go to the target talk page.
On the top of the page, click on "New Section" button/link. It should look like this:
In the "Subject/headline" box, type a descriptive title.
In the message section, enter the following: {{Interwiki talkback|page=|project=|section=}} The first two parameters are mandatory, but section can be left empty.
Save the page.

Wikipedia will notify the recipient of having a new message in their talk page. When they visit their talk page, they should see your notice and (hopefully) follow the link to your user talk page.

Optional form: This form is complete. It adds a timestamp:

Instead of five tildes (~~~~~), you can enter any date and time.
