Tankaman-e Jonubi Rural District
Rural district in Alborz province, Iran
Tankaman-e Jonubi Rural District (Persian: دهستان تنکمان جنوبی)[lower-alpha 1] is in Tankaman District of Nazarabad County, Alborz province, Iran.[3] It is administered from the city of Tankaman.[4]
At the 2006 census, its population (as Tankaman Rural District) was 16,310 in 4,135 households, when Nazarabad County was in Tehran province.[5]
In August 2010, Karaj County, Nazarabad County, and Savojbolagh County were separated from the province in the establishment of Alborz province.[6]
At the most recent census of 2016, the rural district had a population of 3,279 people in 1,039 households, by which time it had been renamed at the same time that Tankaman-e Shomali Rural District was established.[7] The most populous of its 22 villages was Mohammadabad, with 781 people.[2]
