Spassky District (Russian: Спа́сский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the forty in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia.[1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Spassky Municipal District.[4] It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 706.6 square kilometers (272.8 sq mi).[1] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Spasskoye.[1] Population: 10,998 (2010 Census);[2] 13,533 (2002 Census);[6] 16,204 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Spasskoye accounts for 35.9% of the district's total population.[2]
