South Lafourche Leonard Miller Jr. Airport
Airport
South Lafourche Leonard Miller Jr. Airport (ICAO: KGAO, FAA LID: GAO, formerly L49[2]) is a public use airport in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, United States.[1] It is owned by the Greater Lafourche Port Commission and located one nautical mile (2 km) east of the central business district of Galliano, Louisiana.[1] This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.[3]
Although many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned GAO by the FAA[1] but has no designation from the IATA[4] (which assigned GAO to Los Canos Airport in Guantanamo, Cuba).[5][6]
