The Sofia City Council is the legislative body of Sofia Municipality.^[2][3] It consists of 61 councilmen elected via proportional vote by constituents registered within the municipality.

The Council has fourteen permanent committees:^[4]

• Healthcare and Social policy (Chairperson: Vanya Grigorova);

• Regional self-governing and regulatory use (Chairperson: Ivan Videlov);
• Education, Culture, Science and Cultural diversity (Chairperson: Miroslav Borshosh);
• Economy, Property and Digital transformation (Chairperson: Proshko Proshkov);
• Engineer infrastructure and Energy planning (Chairperson: Dimitar Danailov);
• Public order and Security (Chairperson: Vanya Tagareva);
• Transport and Road safety (Chairperson: Ivan Takov) ;
• Children, Youth, and Sport (Chairperson: Dimitar Shalafov);
• Connections for urban integration (Chairperson: Nikolay Velchev);
• Global cooperation and Tourism, European programmes and projects (Chairperson: Tsvetelina Simeonova-Zarkin);
• Corruption and Unlawfully attained property confiscation committee (Chairperson: Bonka Vasileva).
