Village in Vlorë, Albania


Pllakë (Albanian definite form: Pllaka; Greek: Πλάκα; romanized: Pláka) is a village in Vlorë County, southern Albania.[1] At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality of Finiq.[2] It is inhabited solely by Greeks.[3] The village was formerly known as Memushbej (Greek: Μεμούσβεη).[4]

Etymology

The former name of the village was of Albanian origin: Memushbej.[5]


Demographics

According to Ottoman statistics, the village had 71 inhabitants in 1895.[4] The village had 489 inhabitants in 1993, all ethnically Greeks.[3]
