The Mitsubishi Xforce (alternatively spelled XFORCE) is a subcompact crossover SUV (B-segment) manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors since 2023.

The Xforce was first shown as a concept car named the XFC Concept, that was first shown on 19 October in Ho Chi Minh City and then at the 2022 Vietnam Motor Show on 26 October.[7] The production version was unveiled at the 30th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show on 10 August 2023.[8][9][10] In some markets, it is marketed as the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.

Overview

The model uses an updated Mitsubishi Motors design language up front, being the latest evolution of the 'Dynamic Shield' theme.[11]

Built on the same platform as the Xpander MPV, the Xforce is specifically tuned to offer heightened ride comfort on ASEAN roads, using a larger caster trail and quicker OA gear ratio in the front suspension, along with bigger-diameter rear shock absorbers. Active Yaw Control (AYC) is standard.[8]

The Xforce offers four driving modes depending on variant: Normal, Wet, Gravel and Mud. The 'Wet' mode is the first for a Mitsubishi Motors model.

According to Takao Kato, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors, the company is working on an electrified variant of the SUV in the future, which may be launched in regions outside of ASEAN.[12]

Markets

Indonesia

The Indonesian market Xforce is offered in two grades: Exceed and Ultimate, both are only paired to a CVT transmission.[13] According to Tetsuhiro Tsuchida, director of sales & marketing division of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), production began in October 2023 with first delivery scheduled in November 2023.[2]

Vietnam

The Xforce was launched in Vietnam on 10 January 2024.[14] Pre-orders of the vehicle began in October 2023.[15] It is offered in four grade levels: GLX, Exceed, Premium and Ultimate, the latter is available with advanced driver-assistance systems as standard equipment.

Egypt

On June 10, 2024, Diamond Motors launched the Xforce in the Egyptian market under the name Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.[16]

Awards

The Xforce have won the "Good Design Award 2023" from the Japan Institute of Design Promotion,[17] and the gold award under "Best Transportation Design" category from VMARK Vietnam Design Award 2023.[18]
