Mano DeAyala (born Emilio Fernando DeAyala) is an American lawyer and politician serving in the Texas House of Representatives where he represents Texas's 133rd House of Representatives district.[1]

Prior to his election to the Texas legislature, DeAyala was a partner at Buck Keenan LLP, where he specialized in international arbitration law.

In April 2017, Governor Greg Abbott appointed DeAyala to a six-year term on the board of the Texas Board of Criminal Justice where he served as the Chair of the Business & Finance Committee and also served as Trustee of the Windham School District.[1] DeAyala vacated his seat on the board once elected to the Texas House of Representatives.

From 2020 to 2023, he served as a United States-appointed arbitrator under the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement.[2][3]

DeAyala graduated from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business in 1988 and received a J.D. from Southern Methodist University in 1992.[1]

Political career

Following his election and swearing into the Texas House of Representatives for the 88th Regular Legislative Session, DeAyala was appointed to both the Appropriations and Elections committees, as well as the Select Study Committee on Sustainable Property Tax Relief during a later called special session.[4]

He is Hispanic.[5]
