    - Se og Hør reported that Hansen died in her apartment, and that the two had had a relationship running for years. "Fischer Boel initially tried to hide what had happened, but it naturally escaped. She was otherwise on the verge of taking over the chairmanship of the Folketing, but when the circumstances surrounding Ivar Hansen's death came to light, there was broad agreement that it was hardly appropriate anymore.Today, Mariann Fischer Boel sits far from Denmark as EU Commissioner in Brussels."
