Howmeh-ye Sharqi Rural District (Persian: دهستان حومه شرقي) is in the Central District of Dasht-e Azadegan County, Khuzestan province, Iran.[3]

At the National Census of 2006, its population was 23,372 in 4,196 households.[4] There were 25,602 inhabitants in 5,894 households at the following census of 2011.[5] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 13,949 in 3,355 households. The most populous of its 46 villages was Sariyeh, with 2,608 people.[2]
