Background

The event will be held at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

In September 2022, the American professional wrestling promotion WWE held an event in Cardiff, Wales called Clash at the Castle. Its title was in reference to the Cardiff Castle, located near the event's venue, the Principality Stadium. This was WWE's first major pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming event to be held in the United Kingdom since Insurrextion in 2003, and in a UK stadium since the 1992 SummerSlam.[1]

During the April 1, 2024, episode of Monday Night Raw, it was announced that a second Clash at the Castle would take place on June 15, 2024.[2] Its location was confirmed the next day as the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. This marks WWE's first PPV and livestreaming event to be held in the country as well as establishing Clash at the Castle as a recurring UK event. It will air on PPV worldwide and the livestreaming services Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network in most international markets and feature wrestlers from the Raw and SmackDown brands. It was also announced that the preceding night's episode of Friday Night SmackDown would be held at the same venue.[3] Tickets went on sale on April 26 with combo packages available.[4]

Storylines

The event will comprise matches that result from scripted storylines. Results are predetermined by WWE's writers on the Raw and SmackDown brands,[5][6] while storylines are produced on WWE's weekly television shows, Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown.[7]
