Austrian physiologist (1870–1952)
Armin Eduard Gustav Tschermak, Edler von Seysenegg (21 September 1870 – 9 October 1952) was an Austrian physiologist.[1][2] He was an elder son of the Moravia-born mineralogist Gustav Tschermak von Seysenegg. He was instrumental in helping his botanist-brother Erich von Tschermak-Seysenegg in the rediscovery of Mendel's laws of genetics.[3] He was Professor of Physiology at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna and the Institute of Physiology in Prague.[4] He was elected member to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences on 28 October 1936.[5]
