Alexander Johnson (5 December 1917 – 31 July 1944) was an English professional footballer who played as a full back in the Football League for Norwich City.[1]

Personal life

Johnson was married.[2] He served as a corporal in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during the Second World War.[2] Johnson was killed on 31 July 1944 aboard Douglas Dakota KG690 when the aircraft crashed into a mountain 48 km (30 mi) south of Salalah, Oman.[3][4] His body was never recovered, and he is commemorated at the Alamein Memorial.[2]
