Sri Lanka women's cricket team in England in 2023
International cricket tour
The Sri Lanka women's cricket team toured England in August and September 2023 to play three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches.[1][2] The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced the dates of this series in September 2022,[3] before revising the fixtures in May 2023 after women's cricket in the 2022 Asian Games was confirmed.[4] The ODI series formed part of the 2022–2025 ICC Women's Championship tournament.[5] The T20I series formed part of Sri Lanka's preparation for the Asian Games.[6]
England won the rain-affected first match of the T20I series by 12 runs via the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method.[7] Sri Lanka won the second T20I by 8 wickets,[8] which was their first win over England in the format.[9] Sri Lanka later registered their maiden series victory over England,[10] as they defeated England by 7 wickets in the third and final T20I.[11]
In the first match of the ODI series, England defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets.[12] The second ODI saw a delayed start because of rain, and was eventually abandoned after 30.5 overs of play in the first innings with Sri Lanka struggling at 106/9.[13] England won the third ODI by 161 runs to take the series 2–0.[14]
