Patella candei, also known as the sun limpet,[1] is a species of sea snail, a true limpet, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Patellidae, one of the families of true limpets.[2]

Description

The naturalist Alcide d'Orbigny named the gastropod after Ferdinand de Candé.[3]

The size of the shell varies between 20 mm and 80 mm.

Distribution

This species occurs in the Atlantic Ocean off the Azores,[4] Canary Islands, Madeira and the Savage Islands.[1]
