Pandey (पाण्डेय) surname is from the Sanskrit: Pandit which means a learned person or a scholar who is able to feel the Truth, Knowledge of God according to the Hindu Philosophy. They are Brahmins, mainly residing at different north Indian states including Uttar Pradesh, India , Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Maharashtra, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, also in Nepal.
