L'Ascension-de-Notre-Seigneur is a parish municipality in Quebec, Canada, located within the regional county municipality of Lac-Saint-Jean-Est in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. Its name is French for "the Ascension of Our Lord".

History

The area opened for colonization in 1896 and on June 8, 1916, the parish was formed. In 1919, the place was incorporated, taking the name of the parish.[1]

In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, L'Ascension-de-Notre-Seigneur had a population of 2,079 living in 855 of its 985 total private dwellings, a change of 4.6% from its 2016 population of 1,987. With a land area of 130.84 km2 (50.52 sq mi), it had a population density of 15.9/km2 (41.2/sq mi) in 2021.[4]
