On 21 February 2019, the channel was closed down in Vietnam due to low audience.

On 17 March 2020, both GEM and ONE were rebranded, with newer fonts for their logo and without the stylized "Sony" logo.

KC Global Media, the owner of the channel, has decided to closed the channel on 31 July 2024 due to low demand on Japanese contents as they shift the focus on their sister channels, including Anime-focused Animax.[2][3][4]
