Seal_of_Providence,_Rhode_Island.svg

Description
English: Seal of the City of Providence, Rhode Island , featuring the likeness of Roger Williams landing at Slate Rock and being greeted by a group of Narragansett people . The city motto "What cheer?", is said to be derived from the line "What cheer, netop?", "netop" being a Narragansett word for friend. In effect this line basically translates to "what cheer[y news have you brought] friend?".
