Summary
bandlimited sawtooth wave shown in time and frequency domains
by Tlotoxl, from wikipedia en
Note, the frequency domain plot has an unusually high range of power, expressed as 400 decibels. This represents a power range of forty orders of magnitude, that is, forty factors of ten in power. This reader believes this represents an unrealistically high range of power in most physical systems. For example the noise power in a one Hz bandwidth of background microwave radiation is -174dBm, which is over 17 factors of ten smaller than one milliwatt. The power 226dBm is about 40,000,000 terawatts (10^12 watts). 400dB might represent the ratio of power of a solar flare to the background radiation of the universe -- an unusual range of power to represent.
