English: "Escape of the prisoners from the Limoeiro, at Lisbon", published on the 22 May 1847 issue of The Illustrated London News . This incident, which took place on 29 April 1847 during the Patuleia civil war, was originally intended to release all political prisoners from Limoeiro Prison — but ended up resulting in the mass break-out of hundreds of dangerous criminals and a subsequent bloodbath.
