La Convención Constituyente de Chile, encargada de redactar la constitución que reemplazará a la constitución creada durante dictadura a puerta cerrada, se formó exitosamente el día 4 de julio de 2021. Luego de más de 500 años de dominación y violencia por parte de los colonizadores, y luego de los propios chilenos, en forma democrática, se elige como presidenta de la convención constituyente a una mujer mapuche, la Dra. Elisa Loncón, y al abogado Jaime Bassa. La fotografía muestra el momento en que, luego de completar el proceso de selección de la presidencia y vicepresidencia de la convención, se pide un minuto de silencio por todos los muertos que resistieron y lucharon por hacer avanzar al país.
