English: The map above shows the estimated prevalence of Americans with German Ancestry in each state of the United States and in the District of Columbia as of 2020. Data comes from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey . [1] .

42,589,571 Americans reported full or partial German Ancestry in the United States, making up approximately 13.04% of the country's 326.6 million inhabitants reporting ancestry in the 2020 ACS. [2]

The five states with the greatest number of Americans with German Ancestry were Pennsylvania (2,915,171), California (2,786,161), Ohio (2,730,617), Texas (2,429,525), and Wisconsin (2,195,662).

The five states with the highest concentration of Americans with German Ancestry were Wisconsin (37.81%), North Dakota (36.93%), South Dakota (35.74%), Nebraska (32.38%), and Iowa (32.26%).
