FPT Software Company Limited (Vietnamese: Công ty TNHH Phần mềm FPT, lit.'FPT Software LLC'), or simply FPT Software, is a global IT services provider headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam, being the core subsidiary of the FPT Corporation.

History

FPT Software was founded in 1999, led by Nguyen Thanh Nam (later CEO, Chairman of FPT Software then CEO of FPT Corporation until 2011).

  • 1999 - FPT Software’s establishment.
  • 2005 - Opened its first overseas branch in Japan.
  • 2007 – Opened its office in Singapore and exceeded 10 million USD in profits.
  • 2008 – Expanded global operations to France.
  • 2012 - Opened the first office in Germany.
  • 2014 - Acquired RWE IT Slovakia - becoming the first Vietnamese IT company to conduct an overseas merger and acquisition.
  • 2016 - Reached over 200 million USD in revenue and 10,000 employees, with FPT Japan becoming FPT Software’s first overseas branch to surpass $100 million in revenue. FPT Korea was established.
  • 2017 - Partnered with 75 companies in the Fortune Global 500, and won a record contract of over 35 million USD for ERP development.
  • 2018 - FPT bought a majority stake in Intellinet, a US-based consulting firm. FPT Software was listed among top 40 IT companies in Japan.
  • 2021 - Reached 500 million USD in revenue, with a 50% growth in the US market. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the company continued its global office expansion and maintained positive growth in both revenue and profits.
  • 2022 - Achieved over US$800 million in revenue (the third consecutive year with a growth rate of over 25%), and partnered with 100-million-dollar customers for the first time. The company opened its 10th office in the US in New York City.
  • 2023 – Completed M&A and Investment deals in the US and Europe, and joined the AI alliance with Meta and IBM. FPT Software became the first Vietnamese and Southeast Asian technology company to be SAP’s Regional Strategic Services Partner in Asia Pacific & Japan. By December 2023, the company established FPT Automotive, focusing on the advancement of software-defined vehicles (SDV) and achieved over 1 billion USD in revenue from its global IT services.
  • As of 2024, FPT Software has a presence in over 30 countries & territories with more than 80 offices and over 30,000 employees globally.

Notable mergers and acquisitions

In 2014, FPT became the first Vietnamese ICT company to conduct an M&A deal outside of Vietnam, acquiring RWE IT Slovakia, which became an FPT Software’s 100% owned company in Europe and was renamed into FPT Slovakia.

In 2018, FPT acquired 90% stake and became a majority shareholder of Intellinet, an US-based management consulting and technology services firm, expanding the company’s footprint in the United States.

The second acquisition in the US took place in 2023, with FPT acquiring Intertec International’s (Intertec) IT Services division to strengthen its North American nearshore delivery capabilities, leveraging and building upon Intertec's delivery centers in Costa Rica, Colombia, and Mexico.

In 2023, FPT completed two other M&A deals, including product engineering services firm Cardinal Peak in the US and French IT Consulting Firm AOSIS. The company became one of Landing AI’s major investors and a strategic partner in Asia Pacific, which marked important advancement in AI collaboration between Vietnam and the United States.

In 2024, FPT has acquired the IT services company Next Advanced Communications NAC Co., Ltd. (NAC). With NAC as FPT’s wholly-owned subsidiary, the company aims to double its customer base and service offerings.
