The Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Sound Design was an annual award presented by Drama Desk in recognition of achievements in the theatre across collective Broadway, off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway productions in New York City. The award was first presented in 1980, for work in either a play or musical production. It was retired after the 2009 ceremony, replaced by separate play and musical categories.
