This category contains articles related to the flora of Australia as defined by the World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions (WGSRPD). It includes taxa that are native to Australia. Taxa of the lowest rank are always included. Higher taxa are included only if endemic. For the flora of Australia defined politically, see Category:Flora of Australia by state or territory. In the WGSRPD, Australia is as politically defined except for the following exceptions:
- the Australian Antarctic Territory is not included in Australia; it is treated as part of the Antarctic continent;
- Heard and McDonald Islands, politically a territory of Australia, is treated with the other subantarctic islands;
- Macquarie Island, politically an island of Tasmania, is treated with the other subantarctic islands;
- Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands, both territories of Australia, are treated as part of Malesia.
